Welcome to Northcol Adventure. I am a freelance outdoor activity instructor based in the North West (Burnley).
Its been an interesting few years! Up until Covid in 2020 I was working full time across the UK delivering a variety of activities, adventures and outdoor sessions to children and adults from age 3 to 70+. I worked for myself and other providers including Education Authorities, Activity Centres, Charities, Schools and Nursery Schools. Due to Covid I had to find alternative work, but managed to retain links with select providers and organisations delivering guided walks, navigation training, outdoor education sessions and DofE on a part time basis.
Now and since summer 2024 I am back full time!
I offer hill and mountain activities, climbing both indoors and out, mountain bike guiding/coaching, event organising, corporate team building days/problem solving, challenge events, archery, bushcraft, orienteering course creation and coaching including to OAA standard in schools. All sorts really!
Some examples are: A-Level Climbing program delivery, logistics and support of a Way of the Roses Coast to Coast cycle ride for charity, Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme supervision and assessment (to Gold), Yorkshire & National Three Peaks guiding, outdoor activity centre sessions, running club navigation training, ‘Outdoor Education’ space creation and delivering activities/sessions. Adventurous activities in Early Years, introduction to rock climbing including sessions supported by BBC’s Children in Need.
I hold a variety of National Governing Body Awards/Qualifications.
